Manual Deburring and Finishing Workstations

These bench workstations support manual secondary operations on die cast parts. Manual work is appropriate when burrs are localized, geometry varies around ribs or ports, or an operator needs visual and tactile access that a fixed tool cannot provide. It should still follow defined acceptance criteria; manual does not mean uncontrolled.

Edges do not all carry the same risk

A burr on an external nonfunctional edge may be an appearance or handling concern. A burr inside a fluid passage, thread, gasket groove or electrical enclosure can cause contamination, leakage or assembly damage. Huabo reviews the drawing to classify these areas and uses work instructions or marked samples to direct attention to the critical locations.

Controlling operator variation

Workholding, approved tools, sequence and replacement condition are standardized for repeat parts. Samples show acceptable and unacceptable edges. Periodic review confirms that the operator is not removing excessive material or rounding a dimensioned corner. Finished parts move into clean, identified containers rather than returning to a mixed pile.

Specify the finish before tooling is quoted

Buyers should define edge break, maximum burr, loose-particle restriction and cosmetic zones. If a part will be coated, identify surfaces that must remain sharp for grounding or masked for assembly. These details affect labor content and the appropriate combination of press trimming, machining and manual work.
