A twin bore machinery base cover is sensitive to relationship control. The two bores, mounting face, bolt pattern and ribs must work together in the final assembly. If each bore is measured separately but the relationship between them is not controlled, the part may pass inspection and still create shaft, pin or fixture alignment problems.

For a twin bore casting, the buyer should define the distance, parallelism or positional relationship between the two bores when it affects assembly. A supplier cannot choose the correct CNC fixture if the drawing only lists individual diameters. The datum should represent how the part is actually located in the machine or equipment.
When both bores are machined, the fixture should keep the casting stable without forcing a distorted raw casting into position. Otherwise, the part may spring back after machining and lose accuracy.

Good sample accuracy does not guarantee stable mass production. For repeated orders, the supplier should use a fixture that follows the functional datum and allows fast, repeatable loading. Buyers should ask how the part is located for CNC machining and whether the same datum is used for inspection.

Send the 3D model, 2D drawing, bore relationship requirement, functional datum, mating parts, machining tolerance, annual quantity and packing requirement. If the two bores support moving parts, say so clearly during RFQ.
