A round motor mounting cover must do more than close the end of a motor. It often locates the motor body, supports a bearing or shaft relationship, and keeps the screw pattern aligned during assembly. If concentricity, flatness or hole position is not controlled, the motor may run with vibration, noise or premature wear.

Round motor covers often include several circular features: outside diameter, center bore, bearing seat, raised ring or bolt circle. The buyer should identify which circle actually controls the assembly. If the supplier measures these features separately without a shared datum, the part may pass inspection but still assemble off-center.
For precision motor covers, CNC machining normally creates the final bore or mounting face. The casting must leave enough stock, and the fixture should reference a stable surface that represents the motor assembly logic.

When a cover is not square or concentric, the motor may produce noise even if the rotor and bearing are acceptable. Buyers should therefore connect the cover drawing to the motor assembly requirement. A supplier can only choose the right datum and inspection method when the functional relationship is clear.

Send the bearing or shaft relationship, bolt circle tolerance, flatness requirement, coating requirement, annual quantity and whether the cover must pass a motor assembly trial.
