A circular motor end shield is a precision support part even when it looks like a simple round cover. It may carry a bearing seat, vent openings, screw bosses and a visible exterior. The end shield must fit the motor frame, support rotation and avoid burrs or coating build-up that can interfere with assembly.

Bearing seat machining is the main quality point

The bearing seat should be treated as a machined functional feature. If it is off-size, out of round or not related correctly to the mounting face, the motor can run with noise or shortened bearing life. Buyers should define the bearing fit, surface finish and inspection method clearly.

The casting design should provide enough machining allowance around the bearing area without creating a heavy section that increases shrinkage risk. This balance is best reviewed before mold release.

Vent slots need post-casting attention

Vent openings help airflow, but they can be difficult areas for casting and deburring. Incomplete filling, flash or sharp edges can affect appearance and safety. If the slot is near rotating parts or wiring, burr control becomes a functional requirement, not only a cosmetic detail.
