A fluid valve body housing is a functional casting where small details decide final reliability. The housing may include ports, threaded holes, sealing bores, mounting faces and internal passages. If burrs remain inside the port or the sealing bore is machined from the wrong datum, the part can leak or contaminate the system even when the outside appearance looks acceptable.

The first question is how the valve seals. Some valve housings seal by O-ring, some by gasket face, and some by a threaded fitting. The sealing feature should decide the machining datum and inspection priority. If the supplier machines convenient outside faces first without considering the sealing bore relationship, the final part may pass separate dimensions but fail during assembly.
Buyers should mark the sealing bore, sealing face, port direction and any no-coating areas on the drawing. This allows the die casting supplier to plan machining allowance and fixture location before mold release.
| Feature | Functional risk | Recommended control |
|---|---|---|
| Sealing bore | Leakage or poor O-ring compression | CNC machine from functional datum and inspect size, finish and edge condition |
| Port edge | Burrs enter fluid path or damage seal | Define deburring method and internal cleanliness check |
| Threaded holes | Fitting loosens or cross-threads | Specify thread standard, effective depth and gauge inspection |
| Mounting face | Valve body tilts during assembly | Check flatness and hole pattern after machining |
| Surface treatment | Coating blocks port or changes fit | Mask sealing areas and clean ports after finishing |
For a valve body housing, internal burrs are not cosmetic defects. A small chip can damage a seal, block a passage or move into downstream equipment. If the part is used for oil, air or water, the RFQ should state the required cleaning method. Normal air blowing may be enough for some parts, while others may need visual inspection, ultrasonic cleaning or capped ports after cleaning.
Not every valve housing requires 100 percent leak testing. The correct decision depends on pressure, medium, sealing method and customer risk. Buyers should define whether leak testing is required for first samples only, pilot run, or every production piece. This point changes fixture design, quotation and delivery plan.
| Evidence | What it confirms | When useful |
|---|---|---|
| Marked FAI report | Critical ports, bores and faces are checked | New mold or design revision |
| Thread gauge record | Fitting compatibility and depth | Batch production |
| Cleaning confirmation | Ports are free from chips and loose burrs | Fluid or pneumatic systems |
| Leak test report | Pressure sealing performance | Pressure-related valve housings |
| Packing photo | Protects machined ports and sealing surfaces | Export shipment |
