Choosing an OEM Die Casting Manufacturer is not only about unit price. A good supplier should understand drawings, tooling risk, CNC machining, surface finish, inspection and export packing. For overseas buyers, the best partner is usually the factory that can communicate engineering details clearly before the mold is made.

High-volume automotive parts, small precision zinc components and CNC machined aluminum housings do not need the same process plan. Buyers should confirm die casting machine range, tooling support, secondary machining, inspection equipment and finishing resources before starting a project.
| Evaluation point | Why it matters | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Tooling review | Prevents late mold changes | DFM feedback before tooling |
| CNC machining | Controls precision interfaces | Fixture datum and machining capability |
| Inspection equipment | Supports dimensional evidence | FAI, CMM, gauges or fixture checks |
| Surface finishing | Controls appearance and function | Painting, powder coating, masking and packing |
| Export communication | Reduces RFQ misunderstanding | Drawing review, sample report and clear timeline |
Instead of asking whether quality is good, buyers should request specific evidence: marked first article inspection, material confirmation, thread gauge report, flatness report, coating sample and packing photos. These records show whether the supplier can control repeat production.
Most expensive die casting problems begin before the mold is cut. Wall thickness, draft, ribs, parting line, ejector marks and machining allowance should be discussed early. A supplier that asks practical questions during RFQ is often safer than one that quotes immediately with no engineering review.
| File or note | Purpose | Recommended detail |
|---|---|---|
| 3D model | Tooling and casting review | STEP or similar format |
| 2D drawing | Tolerance and datum control | Critical dimensions marked |
| Material requirement | Controls alloy selection | ADC12, A380, zinc alloy or customer standard |
| Surface finish | Controls coating and masking | Visible zones and no-coating zones |
| Annual quantity | Controls tooling and fixture plan | Sample, pilot and mass production volume |
